Today’s teams require a truly innovative and effective approach to team building.
Enter Escape The Box: Team Building by Design. This unique program uses game design as a methodology for improving team performance. The program provides teams with the direct, hands on experience of working together in new and more effective ways. This is accomplished by teams working together to design and build something new.
Through the process, teams also learn the fundamentals of rapid prototyping, iteration and user ethnography – key skills for future ready teams.
A truly innovative approach to team building
Using a hackathon-style approach, teams have one day to create, test and iterate a playable puzzle box using real world objects. In accomplishing this task, teams gain the hands on experience of working together to solve problems. Teams experiment, collaborate, make and learn from mistakes and, of course, think outside the box.
The learning is in the doing. As teams work together to create something new, team building takes place.
Past participants have reported that the process of creating something new in a day is incredibly empowering. They realise their own capability as well as what is possible.
Bringing it all together
Following the game design day, teams go through a one day facilitated debriefing to connect their experiences and learnings back to the workplace.
By the time the workshop is complete, participants have actually practiced new skills and experienced new, more effective ways of working as a team.
